It’s about time we congratulated our 2017 Employee of the Year, senior editor Tony Bennett!

“It was my turn,” Tony says of receiving the honor, with his typical humility and brevity.

Tony has been a part of Windsong since before the beginning. His work history with our creative director Byron goes back to the days when videos were edited on stone tablets. Fortunately, he no longer has to worry about his chisel breaking or getting lost in the folds of his toga. These days, the odd computer crash now and then are the only threats to his productivity.

And Tony is productive, getting to work every day at 6 a.m., or maybe earlier—he’s always the first one here, so no one really knows what time he gets in.

Tony’s work is about more than early rising. He’s got serious editing chops, too. His versatility makes him equally adept at hilarious comedy spots and heart-wrenchingly emotional mini-documentaries. But his career highlight, he says, was editing promos starring something called a “Magic Fashion Pirate Boy” (we’re not sure what that is).

“Hard to top that,” Tony says.

And it’s hard to top Tony. By which we mean, he’s an essential part of Windsong Productions, and we’re super glad he’s here. And not just because his favorite thing about working here is, “of course, the people”.

Congrats, Tony! You’re our favorite 2017 Windsong Productions Employee of the Year!

In my years of experience … I have found very few people who measure up to Tony Bennett! I count it a great privilege to have worked with Tony over the years!
