Intern Life Series: First Impressions

Hey there folks, new intern Evelyn here. I started working with the Windsong crew earlier this month and instead of a drawn-out discourse on my position and typical office tasks, I present to you my thought process during my first two weeks.

> Oh look free coffee!

> How is this a professional office? There’s art everywhere and everyone looks like they jumped out of an Urban Outfitters catalog.

> Breathe. Don’t let them know you’re a major neurotic nerd yet.

> There’s a studio?! With a green screen! And cool photographic equipment! They do cool things here. Too much cool. I might spazz out.

> This cold calling businesses isn’t so bad. People are friendlier than I thought.

> Okay this place does not belong here. I stepped out of Fresno and into the Mission District.

> AND THEY’RE FUNNY. HOW ARE THEY ALL SO FUNNY?

> The girl production assistant is saving my life right now, I can’t believe how patient she is with my silly questions.

> Evo, you are technologically handicapped. Get your act together.

> Wait. I didn’t learn this in college. Where the hell did my tuition money go?!

> I haven’t had butterflies like this since the first time I met my last boyfriend. I’m fangirling over my own job.

> My boss’s boss looks like the dude from The Black Keys. (Confirmed later when I saw the office had pointed it out months earlier)

> Hold up- is that photo of the crew with Joey Fatone? That’s a photo of the crew with Joey Fatone.

> I live like five miles from here, why do I keep driving when I could use my bike?

> Maybe this town isn’t so bad after all. If a dynamic, creative group of people like this exists, it’s gotta mean something.

> Free coffee. *squeal*

And there you have it.
